25 Random Facts About Me

Mon May 11, 2009, 9:44 PM
I give you the height of human egocentricism -- I was tagged.

1. I have no idea what the proper description of my eye color is. Some say it’s green, others that it’s an off-brown. It just might be hazel, but what the heck is that?

2. I’m often critical of myself in features other people probably don’t even notice: nose too big, cheeks too round, I’m fat, I’m short (I think the last one actually is noticeable…crap).

3. I watch virtually no TV. I simply haven’t had the time in the past two years. Besides, there’s nothing good on these days, anyway.
4. I’ve never seen a full episode of “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “South Park,” or any of those vulgar cartoons.

5. I have a strange fetish for fictional antiheros (eg. Sesshomaru from “InuYasha”, Erik from “ Phantom of the Opera” ).

6. My motto: If you got it flaunt it.

7. I want to go to one of the most expensive school in California only to get a degree for the lowest paying profession in the nation – I want to be a teacher.

8. I like touching…seriously, it’s one of the main ways I learn, it’s like I’m compelled to know the texture of something before I feel like I truly understand it.

9. I’m sensitive to the sound of people’s voices, it’s probably what attracts me to them (like how the English dub of Sesshomaru was a major disappointment and Erik in the Broadway production was absolute ear-candy).

10. I’m thinking about cutting my hair short again and dying it purple (Class of ’09 and all that). I think I might also have a vague interest in that punk genre junk that I simply don’t want to admit to myself. Can’t stand scream-o/metallica or whatever that tripe is, though.

11. I’m a bit of a bookworm and I love to write. You could pretty much lock me in a cell, toss me a pen and paper and I’d be happy. No…wait...I like fresh air, too. Okay, just poke holes in the cell, then I’d be content.

12. I like social gatherings, but I get shy in front of large crowds. Y’know, the whole story about rather being the guy in the coffin than the one giving the eulogy for him – yeah, that’s me.

13. My biggest flaw, I guess, is that I have the tendency to internalize my emotions. I don’t like to try in front of people.

14. On the other hand, I do think my level of optimism is relatively high considering my circumstances.

15. And, academically speaking, I perform extraordinarily well for someone in my economic situation (either that or I’m trying to escape it by channeling all my efforts into schoolwork – in Psych class we call that “displacement”;).
16. I like taking walks in the rain. There’s something cathartic in those gentle, wet lashes.

17. If this next line isn’t common knowledge already… Okay, everyone together now: Angela’s a perv. Yeah, I have a bit of a dirty sense of humor.

18. When I’m not being terribly caustic. However, just because I can cut my dinner steak with my tongue doesn’t mean I take it out on others.

19. I try not to offend people, but sometimes I do speak without thinking.

20. By the same token, I’m very forgiving, perhaps because I so often expect to be forgiven.

21. I think I’m a little too trusting, though.

22. I respect honesty in people the most. Right after that is responsibility. I personally think it is a greater honor to be trusted than to be loved.

23. When I’m at my peak, I can throw a pretty damn good fast pitch.

24. Although I’ve been out of regular practice for a while, I know how to play a flute and would like to learn piano and clarinet.

25. Finally, not to sound like a goody two-shoes, but I enjoy donating my time, hair, blood, energy, or whatever I can offer to a good cause. Whether it’s Relay for Life or teaching my kinesthetically challenged friend to ride a bike, I like doing junk that’s worth my while. Sort of gives me a purpose beyond converting oxygen into carbon-dioxide.

No idea! Oh yes and >>; there was an extremely unpleasant incident yesterday at LJ with a lolicon SessRin author who claims to be a good friend of yours. She did so in the context of reprimanding me for politely requesting distance from a mutual friend who wrote a SessRin loli fic (when Rin was still a very young child, too *shudder*). If this is correct I sincerely hope she doesn't pull you into the absurd argument she has picked with me. She has already mentioned your name and stated how terrible I am for "not being able to get along with SessRin shippers," since you can. Despite the fact that I am good friends with :iconfoo-dog:, who is a known SessRin shipper, and have faved works by the SessRin shipper :icontarkheki: ^^; Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either.

My point is I will NOT drag you into the argument, and I hope she doesn't either. I of course won't state her name here publicly. If you are concerned please note me, but I expect the silliness to die down now. At least I hope so.
