I was wishing I had a camera on me the other day when my tech-savvy friends pointed out the absurdity of my antiquated cell phone which does not take pictures (like theirs do). And so, I compose this. Long live my outdated lifestyle!!
Although I live in 2012, I
Still have my phone, music, and camera as separate entities.
Videotape record my favorite shows.
Leave tweeting to the birds.
Do not have a Gmail (that's right! Eat it, conglomerate Google!)
Have never had or played with a Wii.
Read the newspaper on a regular basis (with my breakfast).
Still memorize phone numbers.
Play solitaire with real cards.
Prefer to pay in cash.
Have never had a MySpace (although I do have a Facebook, so maybe that doesn't count).
Believe tumbling is either 1) a gymnastic activity 2) something you do on a grassy hillside.
Use Thomas Guide to find my way around on the road.
My books still have pages made of PAY-PUR.
I have never downloaded an "app."
I still write and mail letters to communicate with friends.
I still use a phonebook to find local businesses.
I still play records.
Believe cable is something used to connect bridges.
Have a TV that has a bulge to its proudly non-flat screen.
Use a transistor radio.
Use cassettes and a Walkman to learn a language.
Have an analogue alarm clock with the little bells on the sides and hammer in the middle.
Prefer to read analogue time.
....Will probably add to this as I go. Feel free to add/make your own!
